Dark Chocolate Brownies

These dark-chocolate brownies are the perfect treat for when you want something sweet but want to limit your added sugar intake.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz dark chocolate (solid or chocolate chips - check the label for no added sugars)
  • 7 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup extra dark chocolate chips (optional, for topping)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a pot on the stove or a heat-safe bowl in the oven, melt the butter and chocolate chips together.
  3. Once melted, mix in the flour, eggs, vanilla extract, cane sugar, and extra chocolate chips. Stir until a brownie-like batter forms.
  4. Prepare a baking pan by coating it with cooking oil or lining it with parchment paper. Pour in the brownie mixture and bake for 17-20 minutes.
  5. Let the brownies cool before serving. Enjoy!
