Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 medium apple
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk of your choice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Toppings of your choice (e.g., peanut butter, almond butter, maple syrup, nuts)

Directions

  1. Chop the apple into small pieces.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Once hot, add the apple, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Sauté for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Set aside a few apple pieces for topping later. Add the rolled oats and milk to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oatmeal reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Serve the oatmeal in a bowl. Top with the reserved apple pieces and your favorite toppings.
