Bonne Maman Thumb Print Cookies

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
    • 3/4 cup ( 1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
    • 2/3 cup sugar, plus a little extra for rolling
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/3 cup Bonne Maman preserves or jelly
  • Recipe:
    • Preheat oven to  350° F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
    • Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl.
    • In another bowl, whip the butter and the sugar with mixer until fluffy, about 5 minutes. Beat in the egg and vanilla until just combined. Slowly beat in the dry ingredients half at a time, mixing just until incorporated.
    • Scoop the dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place about 2-inches apart on baking sheets. Press a thumbprint into the center of each ball, about 1/2 inch deep. Fill each indentation with Bonne Maman Preserves, flavor(s) of your choice.
    • Bake cookies about 15 minutes, or until edges are golden brown. Cool cookies on the baking sheet before serving. You can store these delicious little treats in a tightly sealed container for up to 5 days.

      Apple Butter Cookies

  • Ingredients:
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
    • 1/2 cup apple butter
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
    • 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar
  • Recipe:
    • Cream together butter, apple butter, and sugar on low speed until mostly incorporated. Increase speed to medium-high and beat for 1-2 minutes. Scrape down sides of bowl at least once during creaming.
    • Mix in egg and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
    • In a medium bowl, combine cinnamon, flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
    • Slowly add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Mix until dough forms.
    • Place into a refrigerator and chill for 2 hours.
    • Preheat oven to 375° F.
    • Use a tablespoon-sized cookie scoop to portion out cookies. Roll dough into a ball and roll each ball in cinnamon sugar.
    • Place cookies onto an ungreased baking sheet.
    • Bake 13-15 minutes. Move baked cookies to wire rack to cool.
